I think that Carmen is very negitive toward her self through out this book.  It really bothers me because she is always calling her self fat and saying that her friends are so much prettier then she is.  Also Carmen won’t give her dads family a chance, just because she didn’t know about them untill she got to her dads house doesn’t mean they are going to be mean toward her.  If she would have given them a chance she might have had a better time with her father over the summer.

I would have to say to the auther that she should make the ending better.  The ending wasent so good i wanted to know what happened next like if she grew her hair back and became popular like the other girls? I think the auther should come out with a 2nd freak because this book was so good i thought . I usually do read because i hat reading but this book was very good.

This story is about a 13 year old girl. Her name is Samantha Gwynn. She is trying to make it through life with an alcoholic father. Also she has her own struggles in jr. high that she has to deal with. It is a really good book. You should read it! [: Who knows, you might actually almost relate the story to your own life. Some of the characters reminded me of some other people that I know.

I chose Freak for a few reasons. First, because even though it may not relate to everyone, it seemed like a book that most girls can imagine where Miriam ( the main character ) is coming from.  Miriam is like a typical “nerd” in middle school, and being called a freak by the popular girls isn’t unusal. A lot of girls go through or see people getting picked on through out  school and it happens all the time. Freak seemed like an interesting book to read, because i wanted to know how she would respond to all the bullying and name calling.

The reasons I choose this book, was because it sounded like it was interesting, and becuase i’ve been through things with family members drinking, and it can show you what drinking too much can do to you , and how it can hurt your family and everyone around you . Every teenage girl should read it .

The reasons I chose this book to read are because when I read the description it sounded very interesting. It sounded like a good book for teenage girls to read. It sounded like it had a good story behind it, and something that I would like. Im halfway through the book and I think its great so far!

I think this book is good for all girls who feel left out in school.  I just got done with the section when Miriam was getting picked on by the “popular” girls.  I hope she finally gets the courage to stand up for herself.  I think everyone can relate to this book.  It really got me interested to the point I couldnt put it down.

Level 1 SR: This is a very good book. It’s about a 13 year old girl named Samantha Gwynn. She is stuggling through life with the worries of her alcoholic father, school, and boys. It’s not like your typical average teenager. I believe more people should read this book. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, it’s alot more inspiring than what it looks. [:
