I have one question and one question only and it is why would anyone write a book with the name Laggan Lard Butts.  When I requested it from the library the librarian started cracking up and asked if I was just joking around.

Level 1 SR-    The book Perfect is about a girl named Isabelle who’s father dies and the family doesn’t know what to do.  Her mother is always crying in her bedroom at night.  She also runs into her room when her husband id brought into the subject.  April (Ape Face) finds Isabelle in the bathroom on her knees throwing up into the toilet.  April ends up telling her mom about Isabelle and her bulimia.  Her mother signs her up for Group for her eating disorder.  When she is there she finds out that the most popular girl from school is there.  Ashely Burnum.  Isabelle ends up hanging out with Ashely all the time.  She later finds out that she has the same eating disorder as herself.  I finished the book but I don’t want to give the rest away!!!

I chose this book for a couple reasons.  The title sounded funny, it had to do about a sports team, and the summary I read about it made it sound like a good book.  I have not started reading it but I should be getting the book today or tomorrow.

Level 1 CH: I chose the book “Perfect” for many reasons.  My first reason is because this book is about a thirteen year old girl named Isabelle who has many issues that every person can have.  Her issues include the death of her father, the depression that her whole family faces, and her annoying sister who told on Isabelle for her disorder.  The second reason I chose this book is because it has a certain connection to the people of every school.  What I mean by this is that there is always the pretty, popular girl who seems to be perfect, but really isn’t.  In this story that girl is Ashley Barnum, who also suffers from the same eating disorder as Isabelle.  Lastly, I chose this book because it’s summary in the packet Mrs. Hanlon gave us seemed very interesting.  I knew right away that this was the book I wanted to read because reading it could teach me and others how to come over hard times.  Also, it can show everyone how an eating disorder is very dangerous and should never begin.  I am really glad that I chose this book and I hope others enjoy it, too!!

Level 1: Retelling what happened so far in Lush.

The beginning of Lush is good. It all starts off with Sam, the main character, telling how her dad is always drunk and how her family is turning into a nightmare. Her mom is doing yoga and her dad is always drunk at some bar. Wth growing up and being 13, Sam is having a hard time right now dealing with all of this. She is so desperete to find some advice she sneaks a note in a library book and sees if this girl Juliet responds back. With getting advice from a girl she has never even talk too, Sam is still trying to deal with life and home and the morons at school. Cant wait to read more! =]]

There are only a few reasons why i chose to read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.  At first it wasn’t one of my main choices, but I was one of the last people to pick which book i wanted.  My first 2 choices weren’t available anymore, so i chose Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants because I’ve seen the movie and wanted to see if it was similar to it. I’ve also heard that it was a really good book from a few people that have already read it.  Now i am glad i chose the book though, because it is very interesting to me and I’m excited to keep reading and find out what happens next!
